46 million Americans have no health care insurance, and ten million of them are children.
- Health care costs are rising at 10 times the cost of inflation
- Pharmaceutical spending has increased an average of 16% per year since 1999.
- The new Medicare bill forces 32.5 million seniors and people with disabilities to pay higher premiums and other Medicare costs.
- The United States spends more per capita on health care than every other nation yet ranks 37th in overall performance according to a World Health Organization study.
These numbers are disturbing and
that is why America In Solidarity is asking everyone to place health
care as one of your top agenda items when selecting a candidate in the
upcoming elections. That is why we are also held a community forum entitled "The Health of Our Health" to engage those individuals hoping to represent us in elected office on this issue. Tanks to State Rep. Derek Kilmer and candidates Jim Hines, Ron Boehme and Larry Seaquist (all in photo) for attending.
