Having come painfully close to knocking off the Republican incumbent in 2006, Darcy Burner is charging ahead to win Washington's 8th Congressional race in 2008. Burner signed our pledge to support working families in 2006.
Burner (in picture with AIS volunteer Jerry Beckendorf) has been making waves lately with calling out the Bush Administration about their failed direction in Iraq and the Administration's constant attacks on our civil liberties.
"Darcy is showing the type of leadership that we need in DC," said America In Solidarity President Todd Iverson. "I'm impressed that she is out in front, fighting for the issues that matter for working families. The citizens of the 8th District and all of America need representation with backbone and courage, not just another yes man for Bush or his corporate cronies."
Burner has already committed to speaking on a panel about the loss of civil liberties at America In Solidarity's upcoming Progressive Convention.
