This thing's coming up - you better be ready to raise some hell!
This agreement is being finalized by the President's negotiators. Once it's done it will go to the Congress for confirmation. That's where we come in. Chances are it will be terrible, with policies that damage workers and farmers in both Korea and the United States. Chances are it will benefit the richest citizens in both countries and not the average citizen.
Because the President still retains fast track authority, the Congress will have no opportunity to add environmental or labor protections to this treaty, so it's imperative that the Congress votes against it. The only way they will do that is if we fight back hard.
There are several Democratic members of Congress and the Senate who almost always vote for these things. We need to hit them hard, at their offices, in their fax machines, and in letters to the editor.
First step: call their offices by calling 1-800-862-5530 (that's the number for the Capitol Switchboard)
