Starting to trail Hillary and Obama, John Edwards recently announced that he is going to accept public financing for his presidential run.

Good.

Though some have commented that this is a sign of a losing campaign (and potentially disasterous id he secures the nomination), I'm not convinced. He has the ability to still get his name out there and it might mean that he's actually going to have to press the flesh rather than just buy attention in 30 second segments. Politics has changed as the ability to communicate has changed via the web and I don't think tv time buys what it use to (I have 99 channels and most cable systems offer far more).

The system needs to change and if we elect someone behind public financing, it will help change that system.
